The Data Controller, within the meaning of the European Data Protection Regulation, is ATLANTIS (SAS), represented by Alain FRANCIOSA, in his capacity as President of the company.
5. How do we collect your Data?
The Data collected by this Site is collected exclusively online.
Personal Data that the User agrees to provide, regardless of the method of collection (online, paper, or orally), is subject to this Policy.
Regarding SMS messages, your data is collected through your registration if you have consented. It may also be collected via one of our partners if you have agreed, or if we have found an item belonging to you that contains your phone number.
Some Data may also be collected when the User interacts with the virtual assistant Vanessa. The Data collected corresponds to information voluntarily entered by the User in the chatbot interface, such as message content, contact details provided, description of a lost or found item, location, date, case number, or any other information necessary to process the request.
6. Why do we collect your Data?
Some of your Data is necessary for the processing and provision of our Services. Failure to provide it prevents proper functioning of the Services offered.
Below is a non-exhaustive list of data categories and purposes.
Account creation and listing:
- Data collected: identity data (first name, last name and optionally date of birth), contact data (email address and optionally postal address and phone number), listing number, login data (username and encrypted password, IP address, connection logs) and description of lost or found items.
- Data subjects: Website users.

- Data collected: identity data (first name, last name), contact data (email address, phone number), customer data (listing number), financial data (bank card details, IBAN).
- Data subjects: Website users.

- Purposes: respond to user requests, guide users, assist in preparing reports, ensure service quality, prevent abuse, secure the service.
- Legal basis: legitimate interest of ATLANTIS; pre-contractual or contractual necessity where applicable.
Use of an AI-powered virtual assistant
The Site may offer Users the ability to interact with “Vanessa”, an AI-powered assistant. Vanessa is designed to help Users search for information, prepare reports, or be directed to the appropriate service. The User is informed at the beginning of the interaction that they are engaging with an AI system. Vanessa does not replace a human agent and does not take final decisions regarding item return, identity verification, matching validation, or refusal of requests. All decisions remain subject to human validation.
7. Are you required to provide your personal Data?
When making specific requests such as contact forms, the processing of your Data is mandatory. We cannot proceed without processing your Data (notably email address).
You may withdraw your consent at any time via infos@franceobjetstrouves.fr or directly from your user account.
8. How long do we retain your Data?
We retain your Data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless a legal obligation requires otherwise.
Examples:
- Account data: 13 months from registration; archived after last activity.
- Service execution: 5 years after end of contractual relationship.
- Bank data: 13 months after transaction date.
- Invoices: 10 years.
- Listings:
- Lost items: 13 months after creation if owner not identified;
- Found items:
- 19 months for valuable items;
- 13 months for non-valuable items;
- Contact requests: 6 months after closure.
- Vanessa conversations: up to 6 months unless legal/security necessity applies.
You acknowledge that the data you provide is accurate and serves as proof of identity.
9. Who do we share your Data with?
ATLANTIS undertakes never to sell or transfer personal data without your explicit consent.
Data may be shared with:
- ATLANTIS staff;
- the finder, owner, or partner lost-and-found services after verification;
- judicial authorities or third parties under legal obligation;
- partner or affiliated companies involved in service delivery;
- hosting providers;
- email and SMS service providers;
- secure payment providers;
- Mistral AI, acting as technical processor for Vanessa.
10. Is your Data transferred outside the European Union?
We do not transfer your Data outside the European Union to non-EU service providers.
As the Site is accessible online, it may be viewed outside the EU.
Regarding Vanessa, data processed via Mistral AI is hosted in the EU. No US endpoint is used. Data is not used for model training.
11. Security measures
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your Data, including anonymization, audits, access controls, and AI safeguards for Vanessa.

You have rights of access, rectification, deletion, objection, restriction, portability, and profiling objection. Data breaches are reported to the CNIL within 72 hours when required.
